  • What is a CKD?

A Certified Kitchen Designer is a professional who is qualified by education and experience to research, design, plan and supervise the installation of residential style kitchens.

The CKD has proven knowledge, technical understanding, and ability to communicate ideas through a very stringent examination process conducted by the Society of Certified Kitchen Designers, which is the licensing and certification agency of the National Kitchen & Bath Association.

    Who needs a CKD?

Anyone who is considering a new kitchen needs a CKD. This includes the consumer, the architect, the professional builder, or the interior designer/decorator.

The CKD will not only do all or part of the job for the consumer, but their assistance to architects, interior designers, and builders is invaluable when it comes to technical knowledge, product supply, and the supervision required in the planning and development of today's sophisticated residential kitchens.

The Certified Kitchen Designer deserves your full confidence as certification is based on documented proof of knowledge, ability, and experience in the design of residential kitchens. Furthermore, the CKD adheres to a very strict code of professional conduct.
